Lil Wayne sued over outstanding special effects bill

Written by . Published: June 11 2015

Rapper Lil Wayne has been slapped with legal papers over allegations he failed to settle an invoice with bosses at a pyrotechnics firm for special effects used onstage in 2013.

The Lollipop hitmaker, real name Dwayne Carter, Jr., reportedly hired the services of technicians at Pyrotek Special Effects Inc. to create a variety of custom flame effects, including a flaming microphone stand, for a series of gigs between July and September, 2013.

The work cost the firm more than $85,000, but Wayne has still yet to pay up, according to papers filed in a Miami-Dade County court in Florida.

Representatives for Wayne have yet to comment on the lawsuit.
