Lil Wayne has proved he is King of the hip-hop world - he has been named the highest grossing touring rapper, raking in $42 million in the last year (08-09).

The rapper beat out competition from heavyweights Jay-Z and Kanye West to the crown, after playing 78 shows between December (08) and September (09).The 99 Problems hitmaker claimed second spot, taking $34.6 million from his 28 concerts with Mary J. Blige last year.West's 2008 Glow In the Dark tour came third - his 49 gigs pulled in $30.8 million, according to figures from Billboard.
