Lewis Hamilton: 'I am just friends with Rihanna'

Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton has shrugged off rumours he is dating Rihanna, insisting he has been friends with the pop star for years.

The pair sparked rumours of a budding romance after they were spotted partying together in the singer's native Barbados last month (Aug15), and the gossip was fuelled when they were seen enjoying a number of subsequent outings together.

However, Hamilton has now addressed the speculation and played down suggestions they are dating.

He tells E! News, "You know, I've known Ri for a long time. We've been friends for a while. We get to hang out every now and again..."

Hamilton previously dated another pop star, former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger, but the relationship came to an end earlier this year (15).
