Leonardo DiCaprio: 'I can't sing'

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has acting talent and good looks, but he has sworn off signing on for a musical because he is convinced fans don't want to hear his "atrocious" voice.

The Wolf of Wall Street star reveals he was in talks to take on the role Ewan McGregor played in Moulin Rouge!, but after singing for his Romeo + Juliet director Baz Luhrmann, the two decided it would be best for him not to appear in the film.

He tells Variety, "To be honest, I'm not really prepared to do a musical, simply because I think I have a pretty atrocious voice.

"We had a friendly thing where it was me and him and a piano player, and we tried to sing a song together. It didn't go too well. I think it was Lean on Me, and when I hit the high note, he just turned to me (and said), 'Yes, D, I don't know if this conversation should continue'."

DiCaprio did eventually get the chance to work with Luhrmann again when he was cast in last year's (13) The Great Gatsby.
