Lena Dunham laughs off engagement rumours

Actress Lena Dunham has laughed off rumours she is engaged to marry her rocker boyfriend Jack Antonoff.

The Girls star sparked speculation she was getting ready to tie the knot with the fun. musician last week (ends02Jan15) when she uploaded a photograph to Instagram.com showing a stack of three rings on the third finger of her left hand.

Dunham insists she was wearing friendship rings which she shares with her Girls co-producer Jenni Konner.

She tells People.com, "It's funny, I have a ring that my boyfriend gave me that I wear on my right hand, and like, clearly nobody gives a s**t about - it's like a diamond!... And everybody was like, 'Let's ignore that diamond and focus on this stack of three rings.'...

"I also just want to say, if we're going to get engaged, we would be more creative than to do it on New Year's Eve... We don't want to be basic."

Dunham has been dating Antonoff since 2012.
