Lena Dunham gets a moonstone anniversary ring from beau

Lena Dunham bragged about her stunning friendship ring from boyfriend Jack Antonoff on Instagram on Wednesday (20Apr16).

The 29-year-old Girls actress has been dating fun. rocker Jack for nearly four years. And ahead of their anniversary, Jack gifted his girlfriend with a gorgeous moonstone jewel.

Lena was quick to take to her social media to show off her new accessory to fans, but also insisted it's most definitely not an engagement ring.

"Early anniversary gift from boyfriend of the year @jackantonoff (care of Eerie Basin in Brooklyn.) Turn of the century moonstone and peridot," she wrote. "I will so enjoy looking at it while I type words #ringbrag #jewelryb**ch #friendshipring."

Lena has never made a secret of her desire to wed Jack, joking after gay marriage was legalized that the musician should "get on it" and propose.

However, she later admitted the joke didn't go down too well with her beau.

"Jack didn't text back, which is entirely unlike him, and it wasn't until I got home and looked him in the eye that I realized just how little the concept of marriage had been on his mind," Lena wrote in an essay for The New Yorker magazine last year (15). "Partly that's because we were busy, and the ruling caught him by surprise, and his politics were pure and not as self-interested as mine were starting to feel. But partly, I suppose, it's because, as a man, his entire life has not been shaped by a desire for, or a rejection of, a fluffy white dress."

Lena continued to explain that Jack's laid-back reaction had prompted her to think deeply about what marriage actually meant to her. She also wondered if she really was ready to head to the altar.

"It turns out that what I was waiting for was not the chance to marry but the chance to think about marriage on an even playing field, in a world where its relevance is a little harder to question and its essence a little harder to reject," she concluded.
