Lena Dunham blasts magazine for putting her on 'diet tips' cover

Lena Dunham has criticized a magazine for using her image on the front cover to promote a feature on diet tips.

The 30-year-old actress has been displaying a more svelte figure in recent months, which she credits to personal trainer Tracy Anderson encouraging her to embark on a new exercise regime in a bid to control her endometriosis pain.

A small image of Lena's new slimmed-down look was used on a new cover of an unnamed women's weekly magazine, alongside the words "20 Slimdown Diet Tips Stars Are Using" and "Lena Dunham How She Gets Motivated", with the star choosing to share a snapshot of the cover on her Instagram page.

Next to the picture, she wrote her own mocking list of diet tips and made it clear she doesn't approve of such features and doesn't want to be connected with them.

"I have no tips I give no tips I don't want to be on this cover (because) it's diametrically opposed to everything I've fought my whole career for and it's not a compliment to me because it's not an achievement thanx (sic)," she wrote.

In her list, she mockingly told followers she had lost weight due to an anxiety disorder, constant nausea, bladder spasms, endometriosis pain, "constant sweaty dreams of dystopian future" and receiving "baseless but still harrowing threats to physical safety". She continued to list issues which worry her, such as the health and safety of women and watching public institutions like Planned Parenthood come under threat.

The Girls star has been hospitalized several times with endometriosis and was told she was "disease free" following her latest surgery in April (17). However, she was rushed to hospital during the Met Gala last week (ends07May17) after suffering complications from the procedure.
