LeAnn Rimes takes legal action against dentist

Leann Rimes has launched a lawsuit against her dentist over allegations he botched up cosmetic work on her teeth.

The Blue hitmaker is suing Dr. Duane C. McKay for dental work he carried out over a three year period, claiming she was left with severe pain and bleeding. She adds that she has undergone nine agonising root canals and bone grafting procedures.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ.com, LeAnn Rimes claims she has been left with a "permanent cosmetic deficiency" and that problems related to Dr. McKay's work has affected her career as a performer.

She is seeking unspecified damages for physical and emotional injuries, as well as lost past and future earnings.

The singer scrapped a series of shows last summer (12) to undergo emergency root canal treatment.
