Leann Rimes has agreed to a divorce settlement with her estranged husband - on the day he filed papers to officially end their union.

Dean Sheremet filed for a divorce from his wife of seven years on Thursday (17Dec09), and according to Los Angeles court records, a confidential settlement was agreed later the same day.

In papers, Sheremet asked for the singer to pay spousal support plus all attorney fees and costs.

In documents obtained by People.com, the divorce deal states, "The (settlement) shall not be filed in this proceeding due to the parties mutual desire to maintain their respectiv e rights to privacy."

The former couple will be legally single as of 19 June, 2010.
