Lea Michele: 'I'm deeply grateful for fans' support after Cory Monteith's death'
Lea Michele is "deeply grateful" for her fans' support in the wake of boyfriend Cory Monteith's death as she grieves with his family.
The pair found love on the set of TV show Glee and Lea Michele was left devastated when her partner was discovered dead in his hotel room in Vancouver, Canada on Saturday (13Jul13).
An autopsy performed on the star showed that he died from a lethal
cocktail of heroin and alcohol and, after test results were
released on Tuesday (16Jul13), a representative for Michele
released a statement thanking fans for their support.
The statement reads: "Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and
support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s
passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making
appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other
as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the
media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family."
Cory Monteith's cousin Richard recently opened up about the loss of
his "hero", while the tragic actor's stepmother Yvette has asked
for privacy during the difficult time as his father Joe is "too
devastated" to speak about the tragedy.
Meanwhile, British Columbia coroner's officials have called
Monteith's death a "tragic accident".
A statement reads: "There is no evidence to suggest Mr. Monteith's
death was anything other than a most tragic accident."
