Lauren Bush marries Ralph Lauren's son

Former President George H. W. Bush's granddaughter Lauren Bush has married designer Ralph Lauren's son David at a lavish ceremony in Colorado.

The fashion model, who is the niece of former President George W. Bush, wore a Victorian-style bridal gown designed by her new father-in-law Lauren at the ceremony on a ranch overlooking the Rocky Mountains on Sunday (04Sep11).

Guests including her famous uncle watched as Lauren Bush arrived in a horse-drawn carriage before walking down the aisle as the sun set over the mountains.

Lauren Bush's elderly grandparents - George H.W. and his wife Barbara - were unable to attend due to the high altitude of the ceremony, but they reportedly recorded a video message for the couple, which was played during the rehearsal on Saturday (03Sep11).

Singer Michael Martin Murphey provided the entertainment following the nuptials at the Western-themed event in front of around 200 well-wishers.

The designer will now take the name Lauren Bush Lauren, reports New York Post gossip column Page Six.
