Lana Del Rey video leaks online

Lana Del Rey has rushed to release her new music video after it leaked online.

The star, real name Elizabeth Grant, asked an assistant to share the promo for Born To Die with fans after it surfaced on a Russian website ahead of its official release.

A post from Lana Del Rey on her Facebook.com page states, "I hope you like it - this isn't the time or way I wanted to show you the video but I'm in Beijing with no access to social media, and the video's been leaked from Russia so someone is posting this for me."

The video charts a volatile relationship between Del Rey and a heavily tattooed male model, who carries the star's blood-spattered body away from a crash scene at its finale.

Lana Del Rey, who previously directed her own videos, admits she is very proud of the finished product, adding, "This video is the most beautiful thing I've ever done."

Lana Del Rey's debut album is due to hit shelves next month (Jan12).
