Lana Del Rey pulls out of Israel show

Written by . Published: August 09 2014

Singer/songwriter Lana Del Rey has canceled her first-ever concert in Tel Aviv due to the ongoing political unrest between Israeli and Palestinian forces.

The Summertime Sadness hitmaker was due to perform in the capital on 20 August (14), but the show has since been postponed, making Del Rey the latest musician to back out of plans to perform there.

The news was confirmed by the star's support act Max Jury, who took to his Twitter.com blog on Friday (08Aug14) and wrote, "Unfortunately the show with @LanaDelRey in Tel Aviv on August 20th has been postponed. Will let y'all (sic) know the rescheduled date ASAP (as soon as possible)".

Del Rey herself has yet to comment on the cancellation.

Promoters for the scrapped gig have promised to honor all tickets for the original date once a new show has been scheduled.

Cee Lo Green, Megadeth, Neil Young, the Backstreet Boys and Paul Anka are just some of the acts who have called off gigs in the Middle East in recent weeks as the violence continues to escalate.
