Lady Gaga trots to pick up a smoothie

Lady Gaga turned heads in Malibu, California over the weekend (21-22May16) after shunning regular transportation in favor of riding her horse to the grocery store.

The Born This Way singer was gifted a white horse by her label executives at Christmas (15), and she decided to take her pet for a ride to the local store, so she could pick up a healthy green smoothie.

Gaga, who was dressed down in a black vest top and matching pants, was accompanied on the store run by a male companion, who wore a stetson cowboy hat as he rode his own steed.

The superstar, who has a stable at her California mansion, was given a big surprise in December (15) when she found the animal, wearing a pink and gold harness and pink bow, at her front door.

She shared a photo of her new friend on social media, and in the accompanying caption, she wrote, "Today on my doorstep was delivered a White Angel from heaven. It felt like the old days of the record business, she's such a spiritual girl! A heartfelt thank you to John Janick and Steve Berman, the whole Interscope family. I will ride, and care for, and love her forever. I was so surprised!"

Gaga, 30, later posted another shot of the pony wearing a blanket with hay at its feet, adding the caption, "Night my sweet girl."

The pop star has previously proved to be a fan of horses after famously making her grand entrance on the red carpet at the 2013 American Music Awards on the back of a white stallion.
