Lady Gaga's Dubai show hit by delays
Lady Gaga arrived onstage for her outdoor gig in Dubai an hour and half late on Wednesday (10Sep14) as fans endured soaring temperatures in the blazing desert heat.
The Poker Face hitmaker was due onstage at the Meydan Racecourse venue at 9pm local time but reports suggest she did not arrive until 10.30pm and gave no explanation for the delay.
Fans endured temperatures of around 35 degrees Celsius (96 degrees
Fahrenheit) as they waited for the pop star, and around 100
industrial coolers were installed in an attempt to cool them down
during the show.
After Gaga eventually took to the stage, she kept her promise to
keep herself covered to honour the local decency laws and showed
off new, conservative additions to her stage wardrobe throughout
the performance.
Following the show, she wrote on Twitter.com, "Last night's
performance in Dubai was a privilege and honour. I have prayed to
come here and be with you. Shukran (thank you) monsters, I love
you... I looked out into the crowd and saw many different people.
United, International Love. 6 yrs (years) into my career, they were
waiting. Humbled #UAE (sic)."
