Lady Gaga shared intimate footage of herself undergoing medical treatment in a trailer for her forthcoming Netflix documentary.

The Bad Romance singer, 31, premiered the teaser for her film, Gaga: Five Foot Two before her show at Toronto's Air Canada Center on Wednesday (06Sep17).

Candid footage featured her receiving a painful looking injection as part of an unknown medical procedure and joking about her love of marijuana, saying, "Let's get stoned in grandma's car", before being shown smoking a blunt style weed cigar.

She has previously admitted to feeling addicted to the drug, saying it helped her cope with anxiety and the hip pain that forced her to cancel a large part of her 2013 Born This Way tour.

"I have been addicted to it and it's ultimately related to anxiety coping and it's a form of self-medication and I was smoking up to 15-20 marijuana cigarettes a day with no tobacco," she told U.S. radio personality Elvis Duran in 2013.

The new trailer also took fans behind the scenes and showed Gaga getting a tattoo, at fan events, concerts and backstage in the run up to her half-time show at the 2017 Superbowl.

Also seen in the teaser is British singer Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine.

The documentary, which is directed by artist and filmmaker Chris Moukarbel will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday (08Sep17) before it arrives on the Netflix streaming service on 22 September (17).

After her stop in Toronto for the premiere of her documentary, Gaga will continue her Joanne world tour in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday (10Sep17).
