Lady Gaga plays soccer in Rio slums

Singer Lady Gaga went barefoot to play a game of soccer with kids in the slums of Brazil on Thursday (08Nov12).

Just hours after ordering pizza for fans camped outside her hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Gaga headed to Cantagalo, a favela, or shanty town, in the city's Copacabana neighborhood.

Gaga thrilled the locals by kicking off her high heels and joining in a game of soccer, before posing for pictures and signing autographs for her young fans in the impoverished community.

Taking to her Twitter.com blog, she later tweeted, "Today was the best day I've ever had, had so much fun. I'll never forget Rio, you lit my heart into flames. We even played football, they were SO GOOD IT WAS CRAZY."

Gaga is currently in Brazil on the South American leg of her Born This Way Ball tour, and will perform in Argentina next week (16Nov12).
