Lady Gaga has shown her generous side by offering to pay for a disabled fan to undergo hip replacement surgery.
The singer underwent an operation on 20 February (13) to treat a hip injury which prompted her to cancel the remaining dates on her Born This Way Ball world tour.
A devotee named Emma, who suffers from scoliosis and hip dysplasia, reached out to the star to offer her support and Gaga was so touched, she named her wheelchair after her new friend.
Now Gaga is sending Emma to see her surgeon and has promised to cover the costs of her next operation.
In a post on her Twitter.com page, Emma writes, "Gaga herself reached out to me and is hooking me up with her team of doctors, plus others, that did her surgery in NYC as I have been needing a hip replacement for quite some time (my left hip dislocated almost two weeks ago too.. I know, perfect timing, right?)...
"We're planning on flying out this weekend, all expenses paid, for a consult. She won't be there, but the gesture is absolutely incredible and I broke down sobbing immediately afterwards... Words can't describe how incredibly BLESSED I am... I would like to send a MASSIVE thank you to Gaga, her entire team, as well as (Gaga's parents) Cynthia and Joe for doing an incredible job of raising the most beautiful person I know."
Gaga is slowly making a recovery after spending weeks confined to her wheelchair, and was even photographed walking around New York City in high-heeled shoes earlier this month (02Apr13).
