Lady Gaga in secret Super Bowl talks - report
Lady Gaga is reportedly in top secret talks to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show in February (16).
Multiple sources tell Billboard she has become the frontrunner to take the stage at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on 5 February (17), midway through the 51st Super Bowl.
The news comes a month after Adele revealed she had been approached
to perform but turned the offer down.
National Football League bosses have since insisted no such offer
was ever made to the British singer.
Officials are still not confirming or denying they're in talks with
anyone specific.
A new statement reads: "We have had conversations with several
fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show.
However, at this point, we do not have a final decision. We're
happy there is so much excitement about the show."
The Gaga choice would be a controversial one for NFL bosses, who
have tried to play it safe for over a decade after Janet Jackson
exposed a breast during her headlining spot with Justin Timberlake
back in 2004.
But it would be good timing for the pop star, who is putting the
finishing touches to a new album after performing her new song
Perfect Illusion for the first time in a tiny London club on Friday
night (09Sep16).
The Poker Face singer and pal Mark Ronson took over the Moth Club
in Hackney after announcing details of the 'secret' show to fans.
Ronson warmed up the crowd for Gaga, who was introduced by
lookalike drag artist Jodie Harsh and hit the stage in silver
hotpants and a cropped T-shirt, with black tape covering her often
exposed nipples.
