Lady Gaga dominated the MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday (06Nov11), taking home four top honors including two for her hit single Born This Way.

The pop superstar was a winner before the main event even began - she claimed the Biggest Fans prize in the run up to the big ceremony, which took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

And Gaga's winning streak continued as the night progressed - Born This Way was named Best Song and Best Video, while the singer beat Beyonce, Adele, Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry to be crowned Best Female.

The singer also lived up to her reputation for bizarre costumes, wearing a silver dress with an oversized tilted hat covering her face, and joked about having undergone Botox treatments as she accepted the accolade, telling the crowd, "Thank you so much, I love you so much. I'm so grateful. I'm really smiling right now, but I know you can't tell."

Performances throughout the show came from Gaga, LMFAO and Justin Bieber, who was a double winner at the awards ceremony. The Baby hitmaker's girlfriend Selena Gomez hosted the event.

The main list of winners at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards is as follows:

Best Rock Act - Linkin Park

Best Hip-Hop Act - Eminem

Best Pop Act - Justin Bieber
