Lady Gaga and Lorde rule the charts

It's another good week for the girls on the charts as Lady Gaga debuts Artpop at number one and Lorde scores an eighth week on top of the Billboard Hot 100 with Royals.

Gaga's new number one is her second on the Billboard 200, but its 258,000 sales week is a far cry from her 2011 success with Born This Way, which shot to the top with 1.1 million sales.

However, it's enough to topple Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which falls to number two with 210,000 second-week sales.

The new Now 48 compilation rounds out this week's top three.

Meanwhile, the Beatles edge closer to the Rolling Stones' record for the must top 10 albums as On Air: Live at the BBC Volume 2 debuts at seven on the new album chart. The Fab Four have now landed 31 albums in the top 10, five less than their former rock rivals.

Lorde keeps Eminem and Rihanna's The Monster off the top of the singles chart for a second week, but the gap between the two hits is closing and experts predict the rapper's latest collaboration will take over at the top next week.
