Krysten Ritter launches dog-saving campaign
Actress Krysten Ritter is urging animal lovers to take urgent action if they see a dog locked in a car on a hot summer's day.
The Breaking Bad star stripped to a figure-hugging basque and high heels for an eye-catching advertisement in which she is shown holding her pet pooch Mikey after apparently rescuing him from the back seat of a vehicle.
She can be seen clutching a crow bar while standing next to the
car's smashed window, and Ritter is adamant animals locked in hot
cars should be reported as soon as possible before they perish.
The ad, for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, carries
the slogan, "Do whatever it takes. Be an angel for animals. A dog
left in a hot car can die in a matter of minutes. Never turn your
back on an animal in need."
Ritter says, "I think it's something that people don't think about.
It's hot outside - your car is like a fishbowl. So the light comes
in, and it gets trapped, and it gets really hot in there really
quickly.
"If you see a dog in a hot car, and you think that he's in danger
or that he's been there for a while, it's good to speak up... Go
into whatever businesses it's parked outside of, and just raise
awareness about it."
