Kristen Bell had to turn down Peter Pan role

Actress Kristen Bell was forced to turn down the chance to play Peter Pan in a live TV special slated for later this year (14), due to a scheduling conflict.

The Frozen star was asked to play the boy who never grew up in the NBC production of the musical, but she had to say no.

NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt explains, "We were talking about doing it with a man at one point, but we've had several women who wanted to do it and they're either busy or their schedules don't work. It's not like we can film this at any time; I need this person from 5 August to 5 December, so that knocks out the Kristen Bells of the world, who was somebody I talked to about doing it and she was interested, but she's doing (TV drama) House of Lies."

Greenblatt adds, "It's tricky finding the right person in the schedule that we need it but we're actually close. He (Peter) is going to be female."

Last week (ends13Jul14) it was announced that Christopher Walken will be playing Captain Hook in the live action spectacular.
