Kristen Bell accepted TV role for Don Cheadle
Kristen Bell had no qualms about accepting a supporting role in new TV drama House Of Lies - because it gave her the chance to work opposite veteran actor Don Cheadle.
The Veronica Mars star plays a ruthless management consultant in the show, which premiered earlier this month (Jan12) - and she jumped at the part after hearing about Cheadle's involvement as lead actor.
She tells TVGuide.com, "Before he (TV producer) finished the 'le'
in Cheadle, I said yes. I just flew by the seat of my pants.
"What they initially said was, 'You're a small role in the pilot,
but don't worry we're going to develop your character. It's going
to be great,' which I can tell is the pitch that everyone gets when
you have under 20 lines in a pilot. They always promise you the
world. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.
"Even if they were yanking my chain about developing the character,
I said to myself, 'It's fine. If I have to support Don Cheadle in a
series, there are worse jobs you can have.'"
Bell has to shed her clothes for one saucy scene, and admits she
was wracked with nerves, adding: "Being in a strip club in the
middle of the afternoon with the lights on was a little unnerving.
There's a scene where I have to dance sexily around in my underwear
that made me very nervous."
