Kourtney Kardashian proves Scott Disick's paternity after lawsuit

Kourtney Kardashian's longterm boyfriend Scott Disick has put to rest speculation over the paternity of their son Mason by taking a DNA test to prove he is the child's father.

Male model Michael Girgenti recently went public with allegations he had unprotected sex with the socialite in 2009 after meeting her on a photoshoot while she was on a break from Disick.

Girgenti suggested the reality TV star's son Mason, now three, was born nine months after their fling, and he demanded a DNA test in a bid to find out whether he is the boy's father.

He filed a lawsuit at Los Angeles County Superior Court earlier this month (Aug13), asking for joint custody of Mason.

However, Disick has now taken a paternity test to prove Girgenti wrong, and Kardashian, who denied the affair, is relieved to finally put the drama to bed.

A statement issued to E! News reads: "After three-and-a-half years of rumours and lies being spread by an individual I met briefly at a photo shoot, I am setting the record straight that Scott is Mason's father. While it saddens me to have to address these ridiculous lies - especially when the truth was never in doubt - this story must be put to rest."

In addition to Mason, Kardashian and Disick also have a one-year-old daughter, Penelope.
