Kim Kardashian fears birth problems may lead to hysterectomy

Kim Kardashian fears she may need a hysterectomy if the upcoming delivery of her son is anything like the nightmare birth of her first child.

The reality TV star is expecting a little brother for two-year-old North, her daughter with husband Kanye West, and as she nears her due date, she has taken to her blog to share her worries about her health.

When Kim became a first-time mom to North, she suffered from complications relating to preeclampsia, a rare high blood pressure disorder, and placenta accreta, a high-risk condition which occurs when the placenta fails to detach itself after the baby's birth. As a result, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians beauty had to have her placenta scraped out of her uterus by her doctor, calling the procedure "the most painful experience of my life".

Now, as she prepares to welcome her son on Christmas Day (25Dec15), Kim admits she is nervous she will have to go through similar struggles once again, and could have her womb removed completely.

"With the issues I had last time, my risk of having preeclampsia and placenta acreeta (sic) are increased and there's not a whole lot I can do to prevent it, so my anxiety is a little high leading up to my delivery," Kim reveals in a candid new blog post.

"In a very rare case, I might need a hysterectomy after delivery if my condition is severe enough, but luckily my doctor doesn't think this will happen."

The 35 year old is trying to stay "positive", and she has shared a few words of advice for other expectant moms.

"My advice to anyone going through this or anything difficult during pregnancy is that all you can do is be hopeful, get the best information out there and just be prepared," she writes. "The more information you have, the better you know how to handle it!"

Kim has made it clear she is not a fan of pregnancy and she recently had to defend herself after complaints about her aching body prompted a slew of criticism online.

"I just don't think pregnancy and me really agree with each other," she told E! Online. "I'm really not complaining, I'm just being honest... I hate it. You know, pregnancy is not for me... You know I've heard stories forever about how amazing pregnancy is from my mom and (sister) Kourtney, and that's just not the case for me and I'm not going to sit here and lie and act like it's the most blissful experience. It's awful."
