Life & Style magazine editors have since learned the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star suffers from psoriasis.

She tells the publication, "I'd heard of it before because my mum has always had it, but she didn't have red flaky dots all over her.

"People don't understand the pressure on me to look perfect. When I gain a pound, it's in the headlines, so imagine what the tabloids will do to me when they see all these spots."

Coincidentally, Kardashian's mum was also 30 when she learned she had the treatable skin condition.

Rather than hide the spots, Kim is going public about her skin issue - her visit to the doctor for the diagnosis was caught on camera and will air on 24 July (11) episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

The socialite will wed basketball player Kris Humphries next month (Aug11).
