Khloe Kardashian's talk show axed
Last orders have been served for Khloe Kardashian's boozy TV talk show.
Executives at FYI Network have axed Kocktails With Khloe less than three months into its run.
"FYI and Pilgrim Media Group appreciate everyone's great work on
the series and are pleased that the show brought new viewers and
significant numbers to FYI's linear and digital platforms," reads a
statement from network bosses. "We are grateful to have had the
opportunity to work with Khloe and thank her for her hard work and
unique voice that she brought to the series."
Reports suggest the decision was mutual, as Khloe is keen to focus
on her "other jobs", and had no interest in shooting another
season.
She has shot a number of episodes of the show, which are still set
to air, and sources reveal the finale will feature her
brother-in-law Kanye West, sister Kim, pregnant Chrissy Teigen and
her husband John Legend.
The show premiered on the FYI cable channel on 20 January (16), and
Khloe initially said she was "extremely proud and excited" about
the project, which she also produced.
"I'm lucky that I've been able to invite fans into my life and home
on a weekly basis and this show will give me an opportunity to
continue to do that with new and exciting guests."
The series was an instant hit and the same network bosses who have
now scrapped the programme ordered another 15 new episodes in
February (16).
This isn't the first TV venture of Khloe's to get the chop - the
Keeping Up with the Kardashians star failed to impress as the
co-host on the second season of The X Factor in 2012, and lasted
just one season as actor and TV personality Mario Lopez's
sidekick.
Guests on Kocktails With Khloe, during which Kardashian chats
candidly about sex and glamour while sipping signature cocktails,
have included Trey Songz, Dita Von Teese, Travis Barker, Vivica A.
Fox, Cassie, and members of her famous family.
