Khloe Kardashian opens up about marriage breakdown

Kim Kardashian's sister Khloe has been seen crying on camera as her marriage to basketball player Lamar Odom broke down during filming of the family's reality TV show.

Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce from the troubled sportsman in December (13) after months of rumours about the state of their relationship and suggestions Odom was battling a drug problem.

The reality TV star, who cited irreconcilable differences for the end of the four-year union, has remained silent on the subject of her marriage troubles in recent months, but her problems were laid bare in the latest episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which aired on Sunday night (19Jan14).

Kardashian was seen crying on camera as she talked about her troubles, revealing she was struggling to help her now-estranged husband, telling her sister Kourtney, "I have been putting myself aside to hopefully save somebody's life, and now that I have come to terms that I can't I have to move on with my life and that means like changing a lot. I shouldn't care what people think but I do not like that now I am affiliated. I haven't even had a week off, I need to get my life in order, but I love to work as it distracts me, but I go home and I'm a shattered person."

She added of her decision not to talk about Odom's troubles: "My priority is Lamar's health and well-being and I don't feel it is my place to address a lot of things, as it is not. It is part of my job to protect him and keep him as safe as possible and keeping him safe is by me keeping quiet."

The former couple wed in 2009 following a whirlwind romance.
