Kevin Hart has announced he will run the New York City Marathon.

The Wedding Ringer actor and comedian joked he only had "little legs" but he was still up for the 26.2 mile race.

Kevin will race with more than 50,000 others runners from around the world, who will descend on the city in November (5Nov17) to take part in the 47th annual marathon.

The comedian declared that "Sometimes you gotta aim so high it scares you".

He took to Twitter to tell his 34 million followers the news: "Yes, I am running the #NYCmarathon," he said. "That's my #moonshot. What's yours?"

He posted a video alongside the statement where you can see the comedian getting psyched up on a running track.

"I want to talk about moonshots. What is that? I'm talking moonshots," he said looking into the camera.

"(Eliud) Kipchoge running the full marathon in 2 hours and 25 seconds, after witnessing that type of greatness it inspired me to get my own."

"I got little legs, but a big heart," he joked as he took to the track.

The race has come a long way since it began in 1970. In the first year, only 126 men and one woman ran four laps around Central Park with less than half of the runners finishing the 26.2 mile course.

The comedian recently told Good Morning America that he had taken up another from of exercise, yoga.

"I'm loving yoga right now, that's my new thing - I'm switching it up," he explained.

"I said, 'I'm gonna do it because I'm not flexible', and I was waking up aching, and I couldn't touch my toes. We did, like, some hip-hop yoga and that was cool.and I like it."
