Actress Kerry Washington has become a mother of two after giving birth to a baby boy.
The Scandal star and her husband, former American footballer Nnamdi Asomugha, welcomed Caleb Kelechi Asomugha on 5 October (16), according to E! News.
The child is the couple's second, a little brother for two-year-old daughter Isabelle Amarachi.
A representative for Kerry has yet to comment on the baby's arrival.
The news emerges a month after the actress walked the red carpet at the Primetime Emmy Awards on 18 September (16) and joked about trying to delay going into labor until she finished shooting the upcoming sixth season of her hit political drama Scandal.
"I'm close, I'm close," she told news show Extra at the time. "If you see me scooting across stage, it's 'cause we have another week of shooting - we've got to keep it inside!"
Kerry served as a guest presenter at the Hollywood awards show, while she was also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie for her role in Confirmation. She lost out to The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story's Sarah Paulson.
The famously private 39-year-old went public with her second pregnancy in May (16), debuting her baby bump at the 2016 Met Gala in New York City. Her red carpet reveal took place just hours after news of her pregnancy hit headlines, and she proudly cradled her growing belly while wearing a black sequined Marc Jacobs gown at the star-studded Metropolitan Museum of Art event.
Kerry and Nnamdi wed in June, 2013, but their relationship only became public after they married in secret in Idaho. She also famously refused to comment on her first pregnancy until three months after the news had first surfaced.
