Actress Kerry Washington is returning to the big screen to flex her comedy muscles in a new project with Eva Longoria.

The Django Unchained star has been focusing on her hit political drama series Scandal in recent years, but as she prepares to bid farewell to the TV show after its forthcoming seventh and final season, Kerry is getting back to planning her next Hollywood move.

According to Deadline.com, she will team up with Eva for 24-7, a workplace comedy the actresses will also produce via their respective firms Simpson Street and UnbeliEVAble Entertainment.

Clint Eastwood's daughter, actress and filmmaker Alison Eastwood, is set to direct the new Universal project, penned by screenwriter Sarah Rothschild.

Kerry was last seen on the big screen in 2013's romantic comedy Peeples, although she does voice the character Natalie Certain in the new animated Cars 3 movie, which is set for release later this month (Jun17).
