Kelly Rowland to tour with new pal The-Dream

Kelly Rowland is heading out on tour with fellow R+B star The-Dream after they struck up a friendship last Christmas (12).

The former Destiny's Child singer is teaming up with The-Dream for a co-headlining summer tour, Lights Out, which kicks off in Kansas City, Missouri, on 24 May (13).

Rowland and The-Dream recently collaborated on new material, and the singer/producer admits the idea for a joint trek came about naturally.

He tells Billboard.com, "It was just a regular talk: 'You gonna go? We should go do it together. We should go on tour.'

"We bonded over the holidays, in December. We just became great friends. We are really similar in so many ways. Her and Bey (Beyonce) are like sisters to me. We just bonded over songs. She's on my album and I worked on two for her album."
