Kelly Clarkson wary of greatest hits release

Kelly Clarkson was wary of releasing a greatest hits album because she feared music fans would think it was the end of her career.

Greatest Hits: Chapter One hit shelves last month (Nov12), but the Miss Independent hitmaker - who won American Idol in 2002 - was initially hesitant about the release after it was suggested by bosses at her record company.

She tells British TV show Sunday Brunch, "I'm old all of a sudden. My label was like, 'We wanna put a greatest hits out', and I'm like, 'Whoa, it's not over!' That's why I called it Chapter One.

"It's amazing to have the songs to do that but at the same time... it seems like something you do when you're done and I'm not at all, but it does kind of wrap up a decade nicely."
