Kelly Clarkson makes surprise appearance at Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood concert
Kelly Clarkson surprised fans by making her first post-baby appearance joining Trisha Yearwood and husband Garth Brooks for their concert in Illinois on Friday (05Sep14).
The Since U Been Gone hitmaker welcomed her first child, daughter River Rose, with husband Brandon Blackstock in June (14), and she made a return to the stage to sing her duet with Yearwood, called PrizeFighter.
Just before Clarkson came on, Brooks told the crowd about his
wife's new track, saying, "You've got this cool new song coming
out. It's with you and Kelly Clarkson. I'm going to be Kelly
Clarkson tonight! I can sing better than Kelly Clarkson."
However the audience in Rosemont's Allstate Arena gave a rousing
cheer for the new mom as she appeared as she brushed off Brooks'
light-hearted jibe and took his place on stage.
Following the gig, Clarkson took to Twitter.com to share a photo of
her daughter backstage at the concert wearing bejeweled
headphones.
Clarkson added the caption, "Got 2 sing with @TYcom tonight in
Chicago & watched her and Garth as well! Amazing show! It was
River's 1st concert!"
Clarkson's fellow American Idol alum and mom-to-be Carrie Underwood
was also in the audience for the concert. Lady Gaga and her
boyfriend Taylor Kinney were among the revelers at Brooks' first
show of his massive comeback tour, which kicked off on Thursday
(04Sep14) for a nearly sold-out 11-show run.
