Kelly Clarkson cancels Australian concert after laryngitis diagnosis

Kelly Clarkson has axed a gig in Sydney, Australia after doctors diagnosed her with laryngitis.

The Since U Been Gone hitmaker fell sick after jetting Down Under for a promotional jaunt, and called off a performance on Aussie TV show Sunrise on Thursday (07May15) due to throat problems.

Clarkson has now been diagnosed with "acute viral laryngitis" and axed her concert in Sydney on Friday night (08May15).

She says in a statement, "I'm so sorry to all my fans that have purchased tickets for my show tonight. I'm so bummed that I can't sing for you after having such a great week back here in Australia. Despite resting and taking advice from the doctors, I have not been able to make enough steps in my recovery that would allow me to sing tonight. I hope I can make it up to (my fans) soon."
