Kehlani's ex breaks silence after her suicide attempt
Kyrie Irving has broken his silence following Kehlani's suicide attempt.
The basketball player and R&B star Kehlani had been romantically linked since 2015. However, Kehlani hit headlines when her ex-boyfriend, rapper PartyNextDoor, posted a picture of himself and the singer in bed together, sparking rumors she had cheated on Irving.
These allegations came just hours before 20-year-old Kehlani
attempted to end her own life on Monday (28Mar16).
Now Irving has come forward to set the record straight on his side
of the story. He posted several messages on Twitter on Wednesday
night, before deleting them with no explanation.
"It's unfortunate that it's received so much attention but it's
become bigger because of a post that was misunderstood," he
tweeted. "It's been hard to see what's been going on and not
address the truth. I do not justify the picture of what dude did to
try to spark all of this nonsense that could have been
avoided."
He then added that he harbors no grudge against Kehlani, writing:
"Nothing but love and compassion over this way for her and her
family. My only focus the Game I love to play every night."
Did I star Kehlani is now home after being admitted to a Los
Angeles area hospital this week and reportedly placed on a
psychiatric hold after her suicide bid.
On Tuesday she shared a photo of a flower on Instagram and
expressed her gratitude for fans' well wishes, after devotees began
spreading the hashtag #StayStrongKehlani on Twitter.
"Thank you for the love," she captioned the image, before revealing
she had been discharged from hospital. "Everyone's fighting things
people know nothing about. Healthy, home, and with people who love
me. Thank you for all support (sic)."
The flower post has now also been removed from Kehlani's social
media page.
