Keanu Reeves promises Bill & Ted 3 will be 'bodacious'

Keanu Reeves promises Bill & Ted 3 will be "bodacious, excellent and heartwarming".

The 51-year-old star was a little known actor before starring in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure in 1989, but has since gone on to become a hugely successful actor. He reprised his role as Ted 'Theodore' Logan for 1991 sequel Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey and it was confirmed earlier this year (16) that a third installment in the franchise is going forward.

Keanu has now teased fans with a few tidbits about the comedy, telling Entertainment Tonight that the plot will be "about the pressure of Bill and Ted having to save the world and it not quite working out."

He added that drama comes in the form of "the toll (their adventure) is taking on their families" as well as the bromance between Ted and Bill S. Preston Esq., played by Alex Winter, "breaking apart."

However, Keanu used his character's most famous quote to promise that the movie will be "bodacious, excellent and heartwarming".

Despite Keanu's exciting revelations, he admitted that he doesn't think the movie will start production until 2017, but added that "there's been movement" in finalizing arrangements for the film. "We're still dealing with dough and story, but we're closer," he said.

Fans of the cult classic movies will also be pleased to hear that Keanu thinks of co-star Alex as one of his closest pals, and sees him on a regular basis.

"Yeah we do (still see each other)," Keanu said. "Definitely, he's one of my best friends - his intelligence, his humor, his heart. He's a cool cat."

Keanu was actually speaking at the press junket for his new movie The Neon Demon, in which he stars alongside Christina Hendricks and Elle Fanning.

The film, from Nicolas Winding Refn, allowed Keanu to have a real input into his character Hank.

"I’ve really enjoyed it. For me, I don’t know what it’s like for other actors, but for me to be able to meet with the director and have a sense of the whole project, to just talk about tone, speak a bit about the role," he told Collider.com. "And then on the floor, on the day, it’s really creative just to figure out, what are we doing? Experimenting, playing. Nicolas is very collaborative to a certain extent, he’s always the director."
