Katy Perry slams divorce rumours

Pop star Katy Perry has dismissed the latest rumours of a split from her husband Russell Brand, insisting reports which suggest she has filed for divorce are untrue.

The I Kissed A Girl hitmaker and the British funnyman have been dogged by speculation their marriage is in trouble ever since they exchanged vows in India last October (10).

Reports emerged on Wednesday (30Nov11) suggesting Perry had filed divorce papers in Los Angeles, but the singer has taken to her Twitter.com page to laugh off the story.

Perry even jokingly compares herself to All My Children character Erica Kane, who has been married and divorced several times in the popular TV show.

Perry writes, "First I'm pregnant & then I'm divorced. What am I All My Children?! Erica Kane... pshhh... If I had a dollar for every time..."

The singer also used her presenting slot at the Grammy Nominations Concert Live on Wednesday (30Nov11) to dispel the rumours, by flashing both of her wedding rings as she took to the stage.
