Katy Perry's pet pooch lands TV commercial

Katy Perry's beloved dog Nugget is following in the pop star's footsteps to fame after landing his own credit card campaign.

The teacup poodle is taking center stage in Citi's Double Cash card advertisements, which will debut later this month (May17).

"I've traveled from stage to stage with Katy but it's time to take my solo career to the next level and ride my own wagging tail," reads a funny statement from the pooch's perspective. "I'm as happy as a hound dog chasing a gut truck to be launching this new campaign with Citi. It finally puts me on the pedestal on which I belong."

Nugget will feature in the ads in her own dressing room, sitting in a personalized director's chair while playing with Katy.

Little Nugget isn't the only famous furry friend to steal some of their owner's spotlight - Lady Gaga's French bulldog Asia and Ariana Grande's pet pooch Toulouse both earned their own Coach commercials, while Katy's pop nemesis Taylor Swift featured her cat Olivia at the end of her Diet Coke promos.
