Katy Perry fails as Australian TV weather presenter
Pop superstar Katy Perry left Australian TV presenters in hysterics on Tuesday (04Mar14) when she mispronounced the names of some of the country's most famous cities while reading the weather forecast.
The Firework hitmaker was asked to read out the forecast during her appearance on Channel 7's Sunrise show, and she drew laughter from the programme's hosts as she mangled the names of some of Australia's best-known destinations.
The team chuckled when she said the name Cairns wrong and burst
into hysterical laughter when she pronounced the country's capital
city, Canberra, as "Curnaberra". The presenters stepped in to
correct her before Perry went on to give the forecast for
"Hogwarts" - apparently confusing the city of Hobart with the
fictional school from the Harry Potter series.
The singer ended her forecast by telling the audience, "If you
didn't understand all this then you have an app on your phone (to
find out the weather)."
