Singer Katie Melua has been forced to cancel her weekend (19-20Jan13) plans after her flight back to the U.K. from Germany was cancelled due to heavy snow.

The Closest Thing To Crazy hitmaker landed in the country on Thursday (17Jan13) to attend Berlin Fashion Week and was forced to travel cross-country on a train to get to a gig in Munich when wintry weather conditions caused travel chaos across Europe.

Melua made it to the city in time to perform at the Bavarian Film Awards on Friday (18Jan13), but she faced a further struggle to get home when her flight back to Britain was cancelled.

In a series of posts on Twitter.com on Saturday (19Jan13), she writes, "Our European travel chaos continues. Meant to be home in London now, we're still in Munich as flight was cancelled but we're on a later one... So fingers crossed."

The star went on to reveal she was due to have dinner with her husband and some friends, but it didn't look like she was going to get back in time, adding, "Was heading home 2 (Sic) see the hubby (sic) and a dinner with friends, so sorry Tom and Polly if I don't make it."

Melua is not the only star stranded in the snow chaos - singer Boy George also revealed he was stuck waiting for a flight to Rome, Italy due to problems at the airport. In a post on Twitter.com on Saturday, he writes, "Flight to Rome is delayed, possibly cancelled? Who knows!"

Irish rockers The Script were also marooned in Germany on Saturday as the blizzards crippled flights.
