Karlie Kloss feels like a fashion 'geezer'

Karlie Kloss feels like a "geezer" after nearly a decade in fashion.

The American model has worked for some of the biggest brands in the business, from lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret to high end labels like Donna Karan and Dolce & Gabbana.

Although she’s still young, Karlie admits she feels older than her years due to her longevity in the industry, telling America’s InStyle magazine: “I’m grateful that I’m successful at 24 in a way that I never imagined I would be. I feel lucky I started working at 15 - it’s been almost 10 years. I feel like a geezer!”

A lot has changed since she broke out in the noughties though, such as the prominence social media now has in helping up and coming models get recognized and signed. Explaining it’s now a “different ball game” to when she began modeling, Karlie does feel that keeping active online is a positive way to boost one’s profile.

“You have to have a strong presence on the runway, schlep around the world to build a book for editorial, work with the right people, and be in the right campaigns,” she explained. “You also have to have a digital presence and brand yourself. Maybe it’s easier to break through now because it’s democratised. It’s not like there are three important people in the fashion industry who are going to say, ‘Yes, you’re going to be successful.’”

Throughout her constantly busy work schedule Karlie makes sure certain aspects of her life remain constant and relies on her beau Joshua Kushner and her relatives to keep her down to earth. The star has been dating entrepreneur Joshua for almost five years now and having her family by her side helps her tackle any uncertainties in her job.
