Kanye West settles copyright infringement lawsuit
Written by . Published: May 26 2015
Rapper Kanye West has reportedly settled a lawsuit with a former child soul singer over allegations of copyright infringement.
Ricky Spicer, who sang with The Ponderosa Twins Plus One aged 12, sued the rapper in Manhattan Supreme Court in New York City in 2013, alleging the Stronger hitmaker used his vocals without permission.
In the suit, which also targeted West's label Roc-A-Fella Records
as one of the defendants, Spicer claimed the star ripped off his
former group's song Bound for his 2013 hit Bound 2.
West never responded to the lawsuit, but earlier this month (May15)
papers were filed explaining an undisclosed settlement had been
reached and both parties had agreed to pay their own legal fees,
