Kanye West plays Drake tracks as he covers for sick star

Rapper Kanye West gave a nod to Drake as he stood in for the star at Britain's Wireless Festival on Saturday (05Jul14) by performing three of his pal's songs.

The Stronger hitmaker took Drake's place at the top of the bill after the Canadian rapper pulled out due to illness, and he marked the moment with renditions of the sick star's hits All Me, Headlines and We Made It.

West told the crowd, "My homeboy Drake can't be here but we still gotta rep (represent) for him tonight."

However, West's performance was again blighted by booing from the crowd as he launched into a rambling monologue about his public image.

West faced a similar response during his own headline set at the festival on Friday (04Jul14) when large sections of the crowd jeered him during a 20-minute rant.

Other stars to perform at Wireless on Saturday included Chance The Rapper, Rudimental, and Azealia Banks. Sunday's (06Jul14) bill includes a headline performance in London from Bruno Mars while West will play at the Birmingham, England leg of the event.
