Kanye West & Kim Kardashian wed in Florence

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have wed in Florence, Italy.

The couple flew in separately from Paris, France, where they partied with family and friends on Friday night (23May14).

Reports suggest the newlyweds had planned to exchange vows at the Chateau de Versailles, but French law stood in their way as neither bride nor groom resides in the country.

Instead, they toured the grounds of the historic palace on Friday afternoon, before flying back to their base in Paris to host a pre-wedding cocktail party with a performance from Kardashian's favorite singer Lana Del Rey.

West was the first to arrive in Florence for the nuptials on Saturday morning. His bride and several guests touched down hours later.

The big event at the medieval Forte di Belvedere began just before 5pm local time, when guests, including John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen and 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen, started arriving as Andrea Bocelli's Time to Say Goodbye blasted out from loud speakers.

Reports suggest the wedding party wasn't the only thing to arrive from Paris - the wedding's flowers made the trip too, with roses flown in from Belgium as well.

Meanwhile, bosses at Adidas chose the wedding day to launch their new 2014 World Cup soccer ad, which features music by Kanye West.

The new commercial for The Dream: All In or Nothing features the rapper repeating the words God Level over footage of soccer superstars like Lionel Messi and Dani Alves.
