Justin Bieber storms off stage after fans refuse to listen to him
Justin Bieber stormed off stage during his concert in Manchester, England, on Sunday night (23Oct16) when the audience failed to listen to his talking between songs.
The 22-year-old singer was performing to a packed out audience at the Manchester Arena, marking the last of three concerts in the city as part of his Purpose World Tour.
Things turned awkward when the audience started booing as he tried
to speak to them, and a clearly frustrated Justin dropped his
microphone and stormed off stage.
According to reports, the incident occurred at around 10pm, and
Justin was absent from the stage for around two minutes before
returning.
At that point, the Love Yourself singer attempted to explain his
actions to the crowd, telling them: "I feel like I wanna connect
with you. The point of the no screaming thing is that when I’m
looking at you in the eyes you know that we’re actually having a
moment and having a connection.
“So it’s not that I’m being an a*sh**e it simply me just wanting to
have a moment. Manchester you guys are awesome. But then there has
to be ..."
Realizing that his fans were still screaming, Justin concluded:
"I’m just going to quit the talking alright. I’m not going to talk
the rest of the night.
"We’re just going to do the music. Obviously Manchester just can’t
handle it so let’s do the music."
Several fans took to social media to confirm that Justin didn’t
speak for the rest of the concert, concentrating entirely on his
musical performances.
The controversy on Sunday came just days after Justin once again
hit headlines when he asked the crowd at his concert in the city on
Thursday night to stop talking.
Before performing his penultimate song of the evening, Justin told
his screaming fans that he had called his tour the Purpose World
Tour "because everyone in here has a purpose", but stopped when he
realized the audience were chatting and not listening to him.
"I just thought I could have a moment to say something. I can cut
the bulls**t if you want," he said at that point. "I’m trying to
engage but if you guys don’t want to I’ll play the music."
According to the Manchester Evening News, Justin's face "twitched
with annoyance" as he made the request.
But, once again, his remarks didn't go down very well with the
crowd, who quickly started booing.
