Justin Bieber pays off monkey bill
Written by . Published: August 22 2014
Pop star Justin Bieber has finally settled a $10,880 bill for attempting to smuggle his pet monkey into Germany last year (13).
The Baby hitmaker was caught by German customs officials trying to take his pet Capuchin named Mally into the country without the necessary paperwork.
The animal was seized by authorities and later donated to a local
wildlife shelter after Bieber failed to return to claim his
pet.
The singer was fined for importing the monkey and handed a further
bill to cover the costs of Mally's care at the shelter, and
officials have now confirmed Bieber finally paid off the total
$10,880 bill earlier this month (Aug14). The monkey now lives in a
zoo in northern Germany.
