Justin Bieber is offering fans the chance to hang out with him in the studio in return for donations to the typhoon recovery effort in the Philippines.

The Baby singer has launched a charity drive through Prizeo.com to raise cash for the desperate survivors of last month's (Nov13) Typhoon Haiyan.

Fans who donate anything over $10 (GBP6.70) to the cause will be entered into a draw to join Bieber in Los Angeles as he records tracks for his new album next year (14).

In a video announcing the launch of the initiative on Wednesday (04Dec13), the pop star said, "Everyone knows I've got the best fans in the world, so the moment I heard about the tragedy a few weeks back, I knew I could count on you guys to make a difference."

Proceeds from the charity drive will benefit UNICEF, Action Against Hunger and Philam Foundation.

More than 5,700 people lost their lives as the storms lashed the Philippines and as many as 1.9 million others lost their homes. The storm was the strongest typhoon ever recorded in the Philippines.
