Justin Bieber surprised fans by bringing Luis Fonsi onstage to perform their Despacito remix on Tuesday night (18Apr17).

Puerto Rican singer Fonsi recruited Daddy Yankee for the original version of Despacito, which was released in January (17), and on Monday (17Apr17) Bieber revealed he had recorded a remix of the track and shared a link to the audio on YouTube.com. The song generated 20 millions views within 24 hours, making it the largest music video premiere of 2017 on the site so far.

Bieber surprised Fonsi's homeland fans again on Tuesday by bringing him out on stage at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan to perform the song without Daddy Yankee.

"Thank you so much. This guy, thank you so much for letting me get on the record. It's amazing!" Bieber said to him after the performance. "I know you guys love this guy, give him a round of applause. I appreciate it."

Fonsi shared footage of the performance on Instagram and wrote in the caption, "Thanks for the invite to the show @justinbieber."

In the remix, Bieber starts by singing in English, before switching to Spanish as he recites the chorus.

The Latin America leg of the popstar's Purpose World Tour concludes on 24 April (17) in Costa Rica before he heads to Asia and Africa.
